CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT FOR PET TRANSPORTATION

1. LOSS

Every care is taken by FLY-A-PET , the airlines and our ground agents to ensure your pets comfort and safety however we do not under any circumstances accept responsibility for any loss , death ,illness or injury due to any cause whatsoever either natural or accidental.

2. DELAYS AND LOSS OF DOCUMENTS

FLY-A-PET and their agents will not be held responsible or accountable for any airline delays, traffic hold ups, cancellation of flight’s, incorrect routing, loss of veterinary documents by airline agents or kennels, strikes by airline or airport personnel.

3. TRANSPORTING FISH AND BIRDS

The transportation of Fish is a high risk undertaking, and as such we do not undertake to transport fish. Birds will be transported in a suitable container, and we do not undertake to transport the bird cage.

4. QUOTATIONS

The quotation provided is based on the actual height and length of the pets and/or the actual dimensions of the travel container providing it is the correct size. If the size’s provided by the client is not correct, and there is an increase in the size required, the extra airfreight charges are for the clients account. Our handling and airfreight charges are valid for 14 days. Quotations are based on current airfreight tariffs, and as these tariffs are subject to change without notice any increase in cost will be for the owners account. Additional charges such as road transport, kenneling and any extra trips pertaining to the clients pets are for the clients account. After hours surcharges may be applicable for weekends and after hour’s service. Normal hours: 07H00 to 18H00 weekdays.

5. VETERINARY ATTENTION

FLY-A-PET and their agents are authorized to seek veterinary attention, should this be required while your pets are in our care. Any such attention will be for the clients account.

6. VICIOUS DOGS

FLY-A-PET and their agents reserve the right to refuse to handle vicious dogs. Should we not be able to load the dogs, the contract will be cancelled, and a cancellation fee levied to cover all costs incurred on the clients behalf

7. PAYMENT BY A THIRD PARTY

In the event that the transportation of the pets will be paid for by the clients company, an approved order number is required. Acceptance of such an order number shall in no way release the client from the liability to settle the account in respect of all costs due to FLY-A-PET .All account payments are due for payment within 30 days from date of flight.

8. DIRECT PAYMENTS - private clients

All accounts are payable prior to collection and departure of the pets by cash orEFT in the absence of acompany order. Cheque payments require special clearance if the pets are to travel within 7 days of payment. No travel arrangements will be made unless full payment is received prior to travel.

9. INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL

FLY- A-PET and their agents take no responsibility for time delays and extra costs incurred due to incorrect documentation supplied by the client or the client’s veterinarian. Copies of all documents must be supplied to FLY-A-PET timeously in order for them to be checked and verified as correct. FLY-A-PET does not insure the animals. Any insurance required must be effected by the client

10. INNOCULATIONS AND DEWORMING

All pets requiring kenneling at our or our agents kennels will require valid inoculation certificates. De-worming and flea treatments must be carried out within the month of travel or admission to the kennels may be denied.

Please note the annual booster for dogs and cats is valid for only 12 months.

RABIES is required for all travel internationally and to neighbouring states (not less than 30 days and not older than 12 months).

11. TRANQUILISERS

FLY-A-PET does not advocate the use of tranquilisers in transit and will not administer them or take responsibility for overdosing and any side effects or death due to poorly prescribed or administered tranquilizers
